Ausdrill has had a long standing relationship with Globetrotter. From time to time though it is a necessary part of business to see what the competition has to offer and ensure that Globetrotter is still the best fit for us. A very thorough and exhaustive review was done earlier this year and Globetrotter once again came out on top. Ausdrill, as well as myself, were very pleased to be able to extend our commitment to Globetrotter and to continue to receive the high level of service given from the Globetrotter team.

As part of my review process we have increased our company use of the Serko booking tool. The ease, speed and efficiency of the online booking process, whilst reducing costs, is a valuable asset. This also frees up time for the Ausdrill Globetrotter team to focus on our international and more complex domestic bookings, meaning their turn-around time to complete bookings and answer enquiries often exceeds expectations.

Having Jason and Joey, the Ausdrill Globetrotter Team, now implanted in our office is another change we have recently made. Having this dedicated team means they know our travel account and travelers inside and out. Being in the office they are always on hand to answer urgent queries and to discuss more complex itineraries in detail in person. I’m sure our phone bill has gone down as I’m no longer constantly ringing them but instead strolling straight into their office or calling out to them from my desk! Jason and Joey are both a pleasure to deal with and I enjoy having them now located at our office and working so closely with them in my role as the Corporate Travel Administrator at Ausdrill.

As well as being our company travel service provider, Globetrotter Corporate Travel, has been very proactive and obliging in its support of our fundraising efforts since the RFDS Queensland Section changed providers a year or so ago.

In the lead up to our inaugural RFDS Wings for Life Gala Ball in 2015, Globetrotter,  through Account Manager, Donna Ferguson, was instrumental in providing some key ingredients to the success of this our signature fundraising event .

As a “Wings” in kind Sponsor in 2015, Globetrotter provided or facilitated the following prizes, auction items and relationship leads:

  • A trip for two to New York, complementing our “Come Fly with Me” event thematic – which was our major raffle item on the night and helped to raise over $20,000 in ticket sales
  • Complimentary flights from regional airline carriers – Qantas Link and Rex Airlines – that were packaged together with travel experiences from Outback Queensland Tourism, and used as silent auction items
  • Two accommodation packages with Quest Apartments (Brisbane and Rockhampton), again used as silent auction items
  • A signed Jonathan Thurston State of Origin Maroons jersey, which sold for close to $3,000 courtesy of Skytrans.
  • Introductions to the organisers of the Teneriffe Festival, that provided a further opportunity to promote our charitable cause.

This level of support is very much welcomed and is a reflection of Donna’s personal commitment to working in partnership and adding value to an existing supplier relationship. With our sights now set on eclipsing the success of our 2016 event, we are looking forward to liaising with Globetrotter again on opportunities befitting our chosen Rio Carnivale thematic.

Mitie Construction’s business activities focus on areas located In the North of Western Australia. Our Clients are based not just in Western Australia but also Interstate and overseas.

Understandably, we rely heavily on our ability to coordinate, mobilise and manage our Site Construction team and office staff to numerous regional and remote locations at very short notice. This is a very time consuming operation and often costly in terms of our staff involvement and their full workload capabilities. We got to the point that we needed a full time employee to deal with travel for our staff.

For nearly twenty years I have been using Globetrotter for corporate and leisure travel bookings and always the service has been incredible. Recently in May of this year my Chairman had a rushed trip England to attend a celebration for the Queen’s birthday. After packing his luggage he accidentally shut the case and the combination lock was set. He did not know what the combination was to unlock it.

There was an urgency concerning the unlocking of the case when he arrived in London as he had a luncheon meeting scheduled one hour after arrival and need to change clothes for business attire.

I contacted Deanne Garrity who was looking after our account whilst Glenys was on leave. I needed to obtain the telephone number for the concierge in London to see if they could help with my Chairman’s case. Deanne took matters into her own hands contacted the hotel and arranged for a lock smith to be waiting at the hotel for my Chairman’s arrival. We can never thank Deanne enough for all that was done.
